Integrating AI in Computational Chemistry

Venue: Inox, Student's Union, University of Sheffield

Abstract deadline extended

We are now accepting abstracts until 16th August. Decisions on existing abstracts will be made before that time.

Introduction

Welcome to the official webpage for the "Integrating AI in Computational Chemistry" meeting at the University of Sheffield. This one-day event will bring together researchers in computational chemistry to discuss ideas, applications, and the future of integrating AI into computational chemistry methods.  This one-day meeting will include a poster session as well as several contributed talks throughout the day. Contributed talks from PhD students and Post-Docs are especially welcomed.

Scope

We interpret the integration of AI into computational chemistry broadly, and welcome those with interests in using AI to replace "traditional" methods in comp chem, augmenting existing approaches with AI, new developments in algorithms for comp chem, data-driven approaches in comp chem, and automation of comp chem workflows. If you are unsure how well your research fits with the scope of the meeting, please get in touch (contact details in the footer).

Travel

Sheffield is well connected within the UK, with convenient travel via rail from most cities. The University is within walking distance of the city centre, and the tram system connects the railway station with the University (take the Blue route towards Malin Bridge).

The meeting will be held in the "Inox" venue inside the Students' Union. This is a central building within the University, and can be located on the University campus maps.

Accommodation

As a one-day meeting, accomodation is not included in the registration fees and anyone wishing to find accomodation will need to arrange this separately. The University of Sheffield has two hotel options, both around 15 minutes walk from the meeting venue:

For those preferring to stay in the city centre, there are a number of options to suit many budgets. While we have not inspected them ourselves, we have previously had good feedback on the Mecure St Paul's (Norfolk Street) and the Leopold Hotel.
